The Reidsville Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center joins forces with Members for Tornado Relief

May 24, 2018
April 27, 2018 - On Sunday, April 15th at around 5:25pm, an EF-2 tornado ripped through Rockingham County damaging numerous buildings, outbuildings and barns — including at least 20 homes and farms, and the Oakhaven Event Center in downtown Ruffin. Countless trees were snapped or uprooted along the nearly 18-mile path.
The Reidsville Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center joined forces with the membership to make a huge impact for those affected by the tornado.  Thanks to Reidsville Mini Storage/Go Mini's, we were able to fill a 10x20 Go Mini with non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and water to hand out to victims as needed.  The Rockingham Rescue Mission was tremendous in helping to hand out the items collected to those in need.  Also, thank you to our Board Members and Ambassadors that took time to go down to the affected area and help with clean-up and distribution of goods.

The Reidsville Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center wishes to thank the following businesses and community members:

Annie Penn Hospital / Cone Health
Bridgestone Aircraft Tire USA
Dr. & Mr. Robert Daniel
Health Insurance Plans Plus Online (HIPPO)
Reidsville Mini Storage/Go Mini's
RE/MAX Blue Sky - Terri Hill
Rockingham Rescue Mission
Ruffin Fire Department
Shining Light Holiness Church
Steve & Linda Warren - Beauticontrol & Monat

We continue to remember
those who are hurting and wounded from the storms.  It is our hope for Ruffin to be rebuilt and the Chamber is actively using its resources and connections to help future relief efforts.
