SUMMARY:Chris Herren
DESCRIPTION:Chris Herren\, a former Boston Celtic player and recovering drug addict\, is the subject of the ESPN "30 on 30" documentary "Unguarded\," which airs Nov. 1. But that same evening\, you can hear it all first hand when Herren appears in the Rockingham Community College Robert C. Keys Gymnasium to talk about his life\, journey\, and recovery.\n\n\n\nHis accomplishments are amazing\, really\, considering he rose to fame despite his addiction. He was so talented\, he became an NBA draft\, despite failing drug tests at both Boston College and Fresno State.\n\n\n\nHe married and had children but life spiraled out of control as drugs and alcohol claimed him.\n\n\n\nAnd then it all changed.\n\n\n\nThe story about how that happened is inspirational.\n\n\n\nAfter the presentation\, Herren will be on hand at a reception to autograph copies of his book\, Basketball Junkie\, which will be available for purchase. The reception will be held in Whitcomb Student Center.
