DESCRIPTION:In 2007\, the N.C. General Assembly gave counties the ability to enact a local-option\, 1/4 cent sales tax. This new tax must be approved by voters in a referendum before it can be adopted by a county. To further the County's commitment to education and meet the critical needs of both Rockingham County Schools and Rockingham Community College\, the Board of County Commissioners has placed this proposal on the November 4\, 2014 ballot.\n\nThis lunchtime program will provide information on how the 1/4 cent sales tax works\, the educational needs it would help meet\, and what it would mean for your wallet.\n\n\n\nLunch will be provided. Please RSVP by Wednesday\, October 1\, 2014
