DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Piedmont Service Corps\, founded in 1990\, is an affiliate of The Corps Network that offers young adults the opportunity to develop skills and become productive members of the community.  The program focuses on youth and young adults between the ages of 17-30 offering comprehensive work experience\, occupational skills\, and developmental opportunities through organized work activities.  Participants gain on-the-job training\, learn self-discipline and leadership skills\, and develop a sense of work ethic and community spirit. Northwest Piedmont Service Corps in an active member of the national service corps of America. The number of corps members at any giving time depends on the amount of work that is generated by work contracts. Service Corps has an average of 15 to 25 participants year round and increase the participant participation during the summer months.
