SUMMARY:Roteract Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Roteract Meeting\n\nAim To Be Exceptional\n\nThe three local Rotary Clubs of Rockingham County invite persons aged 18-30 to an informational meeting (with free lunch!) between 11am-1pm on Thursday\, September 17 in the Activity Room\, lower level\, Whitcomb Student Center. This is a time to learn about the possibility of establishing a Rotaract Club that would meet on the RCC campus as sponsored by the Rotary clubs of our county.\n\n \n\nRotaract stands for "Rotary in Action" and is supported by Rotary International. Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world as a non-political\, non-religious\, non-profit organization involved in both community and international service. Rotaract clubs are open to persons aged 18-30. They began as a Rotary youth program but grew to become independent groups involving persons 18-30. There are over 7\,000 Rotaract clubs worldwide. Rotaract clubs implement various humanitarian and environmental projects locally or internationally based upon the interest of club members. Rotaract also assists its members with opportunities for networking and leadership development in learning about major issues related to the local community and beyond. Rotaract members have occasion to meet regularly in informal settings\, learn from seminars and workshops on leadership and related topics\, and benefit from many resource persons who share of their experience and knowledge to develop community leaders. Service to others - locally and globally - is a key aspect of Rotaract.\n\n \n\nIf you're between the ages of 18-30\, you're invited to stop by and visit with representatives of local Rotary clubs on Thursday\, September 11 between 11am-1pm in the Activity Room of the Student Center. This gathering will provide an opportunity to explore potential interest in forming a Rotaract Club for Rockingham County.
