NC LEAP is a new program started by the North Carolina Bar Association\, meaning North Carolina Lawyers for Entrepreneurs Assistance Program. \; NC LEAP is committed to promoting community and economic development by providing legal services to low-wealth businesses that strengthen North Carolina&rsquo\;s economically distressed and underserved regions. \; \; Their clients are low-wealth business owners across the state\; however\, NC LEAP prioritizes service to low-wealth business owners with five or fewer employees\, located in rural and economically distressed areas that hire and train local workers. \; NC LEAP assists business owners in identifying and responding effectively to civil\, \;legal issues they encounter as they start or expand their businesses. \; Neglecting the legal health of a business can threaten its operation and limit its future. \; NC LEAP will assist low-wealth small business owners by direct representation with pro bono attorneys\, legal clinics and the production of self-help materials. \; NC LEAP's pro bono services are free to income eligible business owners.
