Unveiling of the Sesquicentennial Quilt Squares
Please join us for the unveiling of our Sesquicentennial Quilt Squares at 12 noon on Friday, May 10, at the corner of Settle & Main Streets. The quilt squares were created by local artist Mary E D Ryan. One of the squares was painted by Ryan and depicts historical scenes while the other was brought to various Sesquicentennial events last year. The public was asked to participate by adding their fingerprints to this community mural/quilt square. The quilt squares will be part of the Rockingham County Quilt Trail. Thanks to Mary for her efforts on this project and to Lea Waynick for allowing the City to hang the quilt squares on her building at 236 Settle Street. Also thanks to the Reidsville Chamber for partnering with us on the unveiling.
