About Us

Providing quality care since 1987, ANCORA Compassionate Care (formerly known as Hospice of Rockingham County) is a community-based, mission-focused hospice & palliative care provider, and the only full-service provider based in the county. In November 2023, we renamed the organization, becoming ANCORA Compassionate Care. This was a change in name only - to better reflect multiple service lines and a broader service area. There was no change in ownership, with ANCORA remaining firmly anchored in the community, as we've been since our inception..

In fall 2024, we had a ribbon cutting to officially open a new, multi-purpose building. Housed in this building is our Serious Illness Clinic, a new resale store, and a new counseling center.
