Robin Hood Auditions for TGRC Children's Theatre
Auditions are open to all children ages 8-14 Robin Hood, the outlaw of Sherwood Forest, leads a merry life with his followers. The citizens of the forest oppose wicked Prince John. He's taken the place of King Richard the Lion-Hearted. One day a caravan cuts through the wood. In the convoy is Robin's childhood sweetheart, Maid Marian, ward of King Richard. Alas, the evil Lady Merle of Cornwall plans to force Marian to marry the Prince in an effort to make John more acceptable to the people of England. To arms! It's up to Robin to stop the marriage, defeat a nasty sheriff and secure Nottingham for the King's return. Show Dates: Fri. March 19th - 7:30 PM Sat. March 20th - 10:30 AM & 7:30 PM Sun. March 21st - 2:30 PM Auditions Please bring a prepared, memorized monologue, no longer than 45 seconds in length. This is NOT a musical so no song is required. NOT everyone will be asked to read from the script. THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU WON'T BE CAST! Be sure to show character when reciting your monologue. Since not everyone will be reading, this may be your only chance to show the Director your character and personality. Please note, there are only 16 speaking roles however, there will be many openings for ensemble (Robin's band, people at fair, townsfolk, soldiers) *This show will need a lot of boys.* CAST OF CHARACTERS (In Order Of Appearance) BETH member of Robin Hood's merry band MOTHER MEG another LITTLE JOHN another OLD WIDOW victim of Sheriff WILL SCARLET another of Robin's band ROBIN HOOD outlaw of Sherwood Forest FRIAR TUCK another follower, a monk SOLDIER #1 in the service of the Sheriff SHERIFF of Nottingham LADY MERLE in league with evil Prince John ANNABEL servant to Maid Marian MAID MARIAN ward of King Richard SOLDIER #2 (KASPAR) also in the service of the Sheriff SHERIFF'S WIFE a clumsy social climber SALOME her silly daughter STRANGER journeying through Nottingham OPTIONAL EXTRAS: additional members of Robin's band; people at the fair, soldiers. As/if desired. *Can also play a SOLDIER (county fair scene; Act One, Scene 2). "Can also play STRANGER (King Richard).
