Maintenance/Grounds

Perform building/mechanical maintenance and grounds tasks to include the care of flowers, shrubs, and trees using motorized equipment and hand tools.

• Mow grass and use various types of lawn equipment (edger and use weed eater)
• Plant and prune shrubs, plant flowers, and maintain flower beds including mulching and hauling fill dirt as necessary
• Fertilize lawn and shrubs
• Pick up trash from campus grounds, roads, walks and parking areas
• Set-up tables, chairs, and the prepare facilities for meetings or special events
• Assist with unloading incoming supplies and equipment and deliver same to appropriate areas
• Operate trucks, tractors, mowers, and other motorized/power equipment
• Remove snow and ice from steps, walkways and parking lots
• Pick up campus mail and deliver to Post Office
• Clean roof drains and curbs
• Paint both interior and exterior areas, as assigned
• Work on maintenance of campus equipment such as locks, toilets, urinals, HVAC filters and other building and mechanical maintenance related duties

Perform other related duties as incidental to the work described herein.

REQUIRED:

High school diploma or equivalency

Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check

Must have a current NC Driver's License

PREFERRED: 

Electrical experience

Ability to operate various types of power equipment.

Ability to use hand tools
