Cycle North Carolina’s 2026 “Mountains to Coast” Tour is coming through Rockingham County! 🚴

Beginning October 4, about 800 cyclists will embark on a more than 450-mile journey across North Carolina, from Mount Airy to Hatteras Island. The week-long ride runs through October 10 and brings together cyclists from 38 states, Washington, D.C., and several countries.

Rockingham County will be part of the adventure as riders travel through communities including Lawsonville, Sandy Ridge, Stoneville, Ruffin, and Eden, with Eden serving as one of the tour’s overnight host communities. Riders will average approximately 67 miles per day while experiencing North Carolina’s scenic back roads, farmland, waterways, attractions, and communities.

The Mountains to Coast Tour is North Carolina’s only fully supported cross-state bicycle ride, offering luggage transportation, rider support vehicles, camping accommodations, and rest stops approximately every 15–20 miles. The event is designed to showcase North Carolina’s scenic beauty, heritage, attractions, historic sites, healthy lifestyles, and the benefits of bicycling.
