Triad Goodwill & Out of the Garden Project Urge Neighbors to Donate Food this Holiday Season
Donate non-perishable food at your local Triad Goodwill
GREENSBORO, NC –As the need for healthy, accessible food in Central North Carolina increases, Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Inc. (Triad Goodwill) and long-time partner, Out of the Garden Project are reminding community members that their local Triad Goodwill Retail Stores and Donation Centers accept donations of non-perishable foods to support Out of the Garden Project’s mission to provide nourishing food and strengthen local families.
“Triad Goodwill and Out of the Garden Project have worked together by accepting food donations and hosting their Fresh Mobile Markets for more than 5-years,” explains Teresa East, vice president of marketing for Triad Goodwill. “Both of our organization’s missions align to improve lives and enrich our communities – whether it’s through the power of work, or the power of food.”
“This year, demand for our services has increased by more than 30%. We are grateful for the continued support of Triad Goodwill,” says Beth Crise, president & executive director of Out of the Garden Project. “Together, we are strengthening families and communities across the Triad.”
Year-round, all Triad Goodwill locations accept non-perishable food donations. Items can be donated easily and quickly at donation centers, just as you would clothing or housewares. All food donations are collected and delivered to Out of the Garden Project to redistribute through their Fresh Mobile Markets and Operation Backpack. Suggested food donations include:
 Canned meat, chicken, or tuna
Canned vegetables, beans, and fruit
Canned pasta and soups
1-pound bags of rice and beans
Dry pasta and canned pasta sauce
Macaroni and cheese
Individual cereal, oatmeal, or grits
Peanut butter and plastic containers of jelly
Granola, fruit, or other healthy bars and snacks
Please note that food packed in glass jars or donated after hours and left unattended cannot be accepted.
